The 10 Rules of Second-Hand

Choose the right frame size.
Get a second opinion from a friend in the know.
Ask questions… even stupid ones!
Negotiate a test period before you commit.
Get the bike’s service history.
Do the six-point check.
Be extra-vigilant when buying privately. Trust no-one.
A clean bike isn’t always a mechanically sound bike.
Don’t pay for a bike unless you’ve tested, ridden and checked it.
Do due diligence. Be wary of a deal that seems too good to be true; the bike could be stolen.
Visit a trusted dealer.[/box]
